The difference between the two climber types is a matter of what holds your top half while you lift the bottom. I used lw for years and think the alpha is a great stand, have an alpha hand climber. Packs down easy and small. It packs very flat. Have not used my climber since I bought these 3 or so seasons ago. What’s everybody experiencing with xop vs lone wolf quality over multiple seasons. But the xop bracket makes using a lw hang on a no go for me. Thanks for the info guys this site is really helpful. Love the hand climber stand, but if you are not in shape, older, or not real cooridinated, the sit and climb style would be the way to go. The Lone Wolf Sit and Climb Tree Stand weighs in at 21 lbs, packs down to a 4” profile and is very comfortable when porting. #2 Lone Wolf Sit & Climb Tree Stand Review The Lone Wolf Wide Sit & Climb Combo II Climbing Tree Stand. Best feature is how quietly I can move it in to position to use or to push it against the tree silently(I stand 75% of the time I'm hunting) I do use Lone Wolf hang ons for certain set-ups , but 90 % of the time I'm in the woods woith bow in hand I will be in one of my Open Shots. Super light and a hell of a lot easier to pack in vs a summit. Leaning more towards the Lone Wolf. Makes putting the stand up easier as I dont have to support the stands weight while attaching to the tree. I just got the lone wolf hand climber this year.. its hands down better than my old loggy. Problem is that it's a hand climber and may be tougher for her to climb with vs something like a summit where you sit and climb. The summit is the compromise so it got the most use unless there was a long sit … Its lighter and less bulky than my climber and does not take me any longer to get up the tree. I bought the top half of a Sit and Climb for long sits and planned to use the Hand Climber for short sits/long hikes to the stand. Might as well spend a couple hundred on a stand then a ticket right. Looking at a climbing stand as I don't want to use my hang on stand and get in trouble. While i love the lone wolf hand climber i have, i can see it being more difficult as I get older. Its way more stable climbing and I like how quiet it is. I have a lone wolf hand climber combo. This tree stand offers all day sitting comfort without sacrificing performance, durability, or strength. Lone Wolf has two basic styles of their Sit and Climb model, and a few different hand climber options for the more daring. The sit and climb would definitly be nicer later in life. Just an option. Anyway I'm between the two listed above. I primarily used three different climbers this year, the summit viper elite sd,lone wolf sit-n-climb and millenium. Also, lone wolf makes a bracket you hang the stand on. The millenium wins out for pure comfort and the lone wolf is at the other end for portability/silence. That is similar to the way I do on my summit. Just curious if anyone has any input. When you climb with the Hand climber do you hold to the traction belt and rest your elbow on the seat like it shows on the lone wolf website. i had the lone wolf sit and climb last year not a bad climber very well built and quite i opted to go for the summit viper ss 180 this year though and gave the lonewolf to … Or prefers a different climber. I bought a hand climber about 4 years ago and I liked it but I wanted a little more comfort. I will try to allocate funds to maybe purchase a lone wolf climber hopefully find a used one. The Sit and Climb ended up being so comfortable and easy to pack that I sold the Hand Climber seat.
