I’ve been making pots for several years now and I really love the time I spend with clay. A great inspiration to me has been Grayson Perry. A great ceramicist and famous cross dresser!
Grayson Perry recently had an exhibition at the National Portarit Gallery. His pots demonstrated that portraiture doesn’t have to always be presented on a canvas. His pots captured the portraits of many different types of people and family groups.
I have taken inspiration from this and I’m currently working on a pot that captures images of my son and husband. I hope this will become a family heirloom. But maybe I’m hoping for too much!
The photo of my blank pot accompanies this post. Should the kiln gods look favourably on me I’ll soon be able to show you the results.
